PETER CRATHORNE  Retired head teacher, a champion for the elderly, families and young people. Presently I am a Trustee of the Henley-in-Arden War Memorial Trust, plus Chairman and Trustee of the Hub@Henley Community Centre Charitable Incorporated Organisation. In the past I have been a co-opted member of Solihull Borough’s Education Committee, a member of a number of local educational consultative committees, a professional youth leader and an adviser for families who face the challenge of their children being expelled from schools.

My ambition for Henley is to see every principal organisation working closely together as a team striving for constant improvement for all in Henley. I see the parish council taking a minimalist role, supporting the key operating trusts and voluntary groups.

The Parish Clerk and Financial Officer

photo

GILL BAILEY is a highly experienced and well qualified parish clerk who told the Councillors, "I have been clerking for over a decade now. Whilst most people actively try to avoid planning applications and grass mowing contracts, my heart flutters when a new one lands on my desk and needs to be dealt with. I believe that I am open, friendly and flexible in my approach to work and in life in general.

"I have lived in a small village named Napton on the Hill, near Southam, for twenty years and have been the Parish Clerk there since 2002. In 2014, I also became the Clerk for a village called Ilmington, because I really can’t get enough of that Parish paperwork. One of my career highlights has to be the removal of a rogue sheep that began to terrorise the villagers in Napton. Luckily I knew who to call and the situation diffused before anyone heard one baa too far. In addition, I have also worked for a Land Agents and property developers, Land Securities and for Midland Private Banking (HSBC).

"I absolutely love working within a close community and am so enthusiastic to get to know the residents of Beaudesert and Henley in Arden and their local businesses."
